Call for Scientific Abstracts

The British Columbia and Alberta South Chapters are excited to announce the Call for Scientific Abstract Submissions to the Canadian Association of Neuroscience Nurses 57th Annual Scientific Sessions and General Meeting:

 Neuroscience Nursing: Precision, Passion, Purpose

This conference aims to bring together clinical frontline practitioners, leading experts, and researchers in the field of neuroscience nursing to share knowledge, discuss innovations, and explore the latest advancements in patient care.

The Scientific Committee welcomes the submission of abstracts on any neuroscience nursing topic including: clinical practice, research, education, and policy. Submissions from Allied Health Professionals are also welcomed. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your work, network with peers, and contribute to the advancement of neuroscience health services.

Conference Topics /Ideas:

  • Neuro Disorders

  • Neurocritical Care

  • Neurorehabilitation

  • Neuroscience Research (includes student capstone projects, theses, and dissertations) 

  • Quality Improvement Projects 

  • Advanced Practice in Neuroscience Nursing

  • Emerging Issues in Neuroscience Nursing

  • Leadership and Professional Development in Neurosciences

Presentation Formats:

  • Oral Presentation: Plenary (45 minutes+10 minutes for questions)
  • Oral Presentation:  Concurrent Session (20 minutes +5 minutes for questions)

  • Oral Presentation:  Pecha Kucha (6 mins 40 seconds +2 mins for questions)

  • Workshop (45 to 90 minutes)

  • Digital Poster (time slots for presentation/Q&A will be determined based on number of submissions)

  • Creative Arts: Visual media, Dance, Music, Poetry, etc. (5 to 15 minutes)


Abstract Submission Guidelines 

Abstract Length: Maximum 250 words

Research and Projects: Structured abstracts with sections for Background and Aims, Methods, Results, and Conclusion

Workshops: Structured abstracts that include Background and Aims, Learning objectives, Active learning strategies and assessment, and Anticipated duration.

Creative Arts: Abstract can provide information on medium, inspiration, relevance to Neuroscience Nursing, and Learning objectives as applicable. 


  • Abstracts may only be submitted electronically via this Dryfta/Conference site 

  • Abstracts should be original, may be submitted in French or English, and are to be presented in English 

  • The presenting author is required to inform all co-authors of the content of the abstract before submission 

  • Abstracts must be received by the 18th of January 2026 

  • After submission, you will receive confirmation via email that your abstract has been received, with your abstract ID number. Please refer to this abstract ID number in all correspondence regarding the abstract. 

  • All submitted abstracts will be anonymized and reviewed by the Scientific Committee for quality, correctness, originality, and relevance

  • Notification of abstract status will be sent from the submission portal once the review process is complete  

  • Biography of the author(s) must be submitted via the submission portal. 

  • The conference committee will endeavour to schedule presentation type according to authors' preferences but reserves the right to decide on the final form of presentation. 

  • Presenting authors MUST register for the Conference. 

  • Research/Projects that will be completed after the submission deadline, but in time to release results prior to the Conference may still be submitted.

Please note that by submitting an abstract, you agree to the following: 

  • I accept that the content of this abstract cannot be modified or corrected after final submission. 

  • Submission of the abstract constitutes my consent to publication (e.g. conference website, programme, other promotional materials etc.).

  • As the abstract submitter, I warrant and represent that I am the sole owner or have the rights of all the information and content provided to the Conference organizing committee. 

  • Your presentation content will be made available electronically to the conference committee no later than 1 week prior to the conference.

  • Your presentation will be made available by CANN to delegates and members through the Conference website in protected PDF format, or recorded video format.
