Naegleria fowleri, also known as the brain-eating amoeba, can cause a rare brain infection called primary amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM).
Using pediatric and adult case studies, this presentation will discuss the pathogenesis of N. fowleri, route of transmission, symptoms, incubation period, PAM, treatment, prevention, and outcomes.
