Neuroprognostication is a multimodal process that integrates various pieces of clinical data to estimate neurologic recovery following acute brain injury. Blood-based biomarkers have emerged as promising adjuncts to enhance prognostic accuracy. This presentation reviews commonly studied blood-based biomarkers, examines their utility in the context of current prognostic constraints, and explores their implications for nursing practice in neurocritical care.
