Champions of Communication Access: Neuroscience Nurses

Session Information

There is room for improvement in Canadian health systems in terms of delivery of services that are fully equitable and inclusive. Neuroscience nurses are uniquely positioned to identify and support individuals with communication disabilities. A review of neuroanatomy and pathophysiology in common neurological disorders impacting communication will be correlated to strategies and tools for use in practice. Neuro nurses can model excellence in communication access and leverage health system change toward increased diversity, equity, and inclusion.
