Quantifying Nursing Stroke-Documentation Time: An Observational Study

This abstract has open access
Abstract Summary

This prospective observational pilot study uses GoPro cameras to quantify how Neuroscience ICU nurses allocate time between direct patient care, documentation, and other activities during the first 6-hour observations of acute ischemic stroke care following thrombolytic and/or endovascular therapy. Twenty nurses will be observed with video footage analyzed to measure time spent on each task. Findings will provide quantitative assessment of nursing time allocation to inform workflow optimization and documentation decisions.
